Confirmation
Along with Baptism and Eucharist, Confirmation is one of the Sacraments of Initiation. Confirmation seals our Baptism and confirms our commitment both to the Church and to the work of Christ in the world.
The gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation, help a person become a better Christian by bearing witness to the Lord and growing in their faith. The confirmed person has a greater responsibility to family and the church community.
A child in the eighth grade is growing rapidly in his or her capacity for freedom, consciousness, responsibility, knowledge and love. For this reason the students of Saint Anne School and the students in the PREP program are prepared for Confirmation in the eighth grade.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated as assigned by the Bishop. The parish is informed of the date sometime after the first of the year. Confirmation usually takes place in the Spring of the year.
